Dwayne Allman
1957
Les Paul Gold top
# 7 3312
To whomever it may concern. The
picture of myself playing the gold top
Gibson in my studio, did in fact belong
to Dwayne Allman.

It was the primary guitar that he
used on the Layla sessions.

I knew the instant that I picked it up
that it was Dwayne's guitar. And was
reassured the moment I played it.

Dwayne showed the simple technique that he
knew about playing so effortlessly with a
bottleneck slide. I was completely amazed
and astounded with his simplicity.
He said that it's just like singin' from your
heart through your fingers.

Eric Clapton told me the same thing.
Thank God for them both, and I am proud
honored & blessed to have been close friends
with Dwayne & with Eric.

To have been a part of such an enduring
legacy has been, and still is a blessing.
I am truly a fortunate man.

He played a very big part in the minds
and the hearts of musicians young and old
alike. And still plays a huge role in the
lives of all who wlll take the time to
listen to that small, still voice in their
souls.

I am certan that he is still connected
to the universe and is still with us all.
We should listen only with our hearts
and follow that voice.

Just to see and touch this gift from God
will make each and everyone of us a
part of the evolution of the spirituality
of the heart.
That is where each and every note that
he played came from.
This guitar, I'm sure will inspire anyone
to have the courage to dig down deep within
the untouched recesses of their essence and
find out what true greatness is about.

Dwayne inspired me to dig a little deeper and
to reach a little higher to where true peace and harmony
dwell.

In our hearts and in our souls
music is more than a feeling. It is a
gathering of all humanity throughout the
universe. May he be an inspiration to us al.

Thank God that PeterYoung
and Scot Lamar had the
insight to make this
dream a reality.
God bless us all.
